The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research facilitates the success of Âé¶¹Ó°ÒôMS' research community in achieving its goals and addressing the University's mission. The Office is responsible for:
Research Development and Administration
- Develop institutional research priorities and strategies
- Promote intramural and extramural academic research collaborations
- Build partnerships with industry, government, and nonprofit agencies
- Support technology transfer and commercialization of research
- Set policies and procedures to achieve these aims
Financial Support
- Identify funding opportunities
- Provide pre- and post-award research grant administration
Research Compliance
- Ensure research activities meet standards of performance established by federal, state and local agencies as well as Âé¶¹Ó°ÒôMS
- Generate reports of research activities and metrics to relevant stakeholders and oversight agencies
Research Integrity
- Ensure ethical conduct of research in compliance with federal and university standards
- Monitor conflicts of interest
Safety
- Ensure the university community works in a safe environment, including research laboratories and other research facilities.
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding laboratory safety
- Provide safety training to the university research community
