Âé¶¹Ó°ÒôMS faculty, staff, and students are intensively engaged in the discovery of new knowledge, a core tenet of the University's mission. The Office of the Executive Vice President for Research facilitates the success of Âé¶¹Ó°ÒôMS' research community in achieving its goals and addressing the University's mission. The Office is responsible for:

Research Development and Administration

  • Develop institutional research priorities and strategies
  • Promote intramural and extramural academic research collaborations
  • Build partnerships with industry, government, and nonprofit agencies
  • Support technology transfer and commercialization of research
  • Set policies and procedures to achieve these aims

Financial Support

  • Identify funding opportunities
  • Provide pre- and post-award research grant administration

Research Compliance

  • Ensure research activities meet standards of performance established by federal, state and local agencies as well as Âé¶¹Ó°ÒôMS
  • Generate reports of research activities and metrics to relevant stakeholders and oversight agencies

Research Integrity

  • Ensure ethical conduct of research in compliance with federal and university standards
  • Monitor conflicts of interest

Safety

  • Ensure the university community works in a safe environment, including research laboratories and other research facilities.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding laboratory safety
  • Provide safety training to the university research community
